Yes refurbished equipment is the way to go for the home based fitness center. The main reason fitness equipment from big box retailers may be a bad idea is when you need service or parts for the equipment. Fitness equipment from big box retailers may cost you more money in the long run because of parts and service issues. Refurbished equipment for commercial brand such as Lifefitness, Star Trac and Precor are the way to go.
