In today’s Wellness Minute Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy teach you how to make your own 300 calorie meals at home. To ball park the portion sizes of each item: (meat, vegetables, starch) in a 300 calorie meal all you have to do is buy a Lean Cuisine or Weight Watcher TV dinner. Open one of those up and you will see how much food you can eat for 300 calories. It ain’t much. You’ll quickly notice that those plastic Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice plastic containers are are smaller than your dinner plates and a whole lot smaller than any restaurant plate.  So the bottom line to build your 300 calorie meal you need 4-6 ounces of a meat about a cup of veggies, a cup of a starch and a small tossed salad with little to no dressing. And save some calories by drinking water. Listen right now to hear Dr Fitness’ tips.
