On today’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy had on cartoonist Carol Lay, Author of the new graphic memoir The Big Skinny: How I Changed My Fattitude. This was the first weight loss comic book we have ever seen. Carol was a chronic overeater who felt she had to look to her past in order to move forward with her weight loss. So she detailed her journey through this funny and easily relatable graphic memoir.  It took her about a year and half to lose the 35 pounds she was trying to lose – her food and exercise journal helped her lose about 1/2 pound a week. Along the way she has battled her temptations like peanut butter and jam. Carol, who has a weekly column on Salon.com explained her motivation and shared some of her best weight loss tips like – stay away from restaurants and eat before you go to parties.
