It does work and likely never will if the industry doesn't get their act together. HTML5 supports browsers playing video but the standard of video that HTML5 will use is highly debated. Apple and Youtube want to use H264 (which quicktime uses for example) but that is not a open source standard and would require Firefox to pay licensing fees to build support into the browser to decode the video. Firefox doesn't want to do that and so they want HTML5 to be based on Ogg V. which would be free. Hence... war, and no set standard. Go to any HTML5 site with Ogg V. files and it works beautiful. Safari, no joy. If it is H264 files the reverse is true.
