For those thinking she is over-reacting, you should know Ukraine just started a presidential campaign and Tymoshenko is one of the two front runners. She cannot take the political risk of looking like she is not doing enough, b/c basically whatever she does, her opponents will use it against her in the campaign saying she did not do enough. So, by going the extra mile here she both stops that kind of criticism before it starts AND she creates the impression of a strong-willed leader able to keep things under control.On the cynical side, by banning big public events, she is screwing her opposition's ability to hold big campaign rallies.
