That's like saying it's not really politics unless you are lying (and I'll grant that as a valid premise :-). Science fiction is a genre. Like any genre, you can use the story to deliver a message, but the two are not inextricably intertwined.
60 Minutes appears to be following CNN into the crapper,.

I'm a pretty big Romero fan...well, 60's - 80's Romero fan now that I think about it. I'm pretty pessimistic about this one. This is better than the original trailer, but that's not saying much. The editing of both are awful.The CGI effects are such a bad idea. Do it the old fashioned way. |

It is only natural that they should want to stay there. With all of the media attention that Guantanamo has received over it's harshness, it is likely to be one of the most hospitable detainment centers in the world for fear of incurring true punishment. Do these people deserve to be put in an isolated dungeon under the ground somewhere in Colorado? My feeling is that most of them do not deserve such a fate. There are few people I would recommend for such a horrifying punishment, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed would be one, the Unibomber would be one, Etc. What needs to happen is that all of these people need trials, no one should go to a Supermax facility (or receive any other kind of punishment for that matter) without having been tried. Once they've all been given a fair trial, ship them off to their assigned fate, be it a jail sentence or even death, and close Guantanamo for good. Really, we should just pack up and get the ***** out of Cuba for good anyways. The presence on their island of OUR detainees is just one of the varied ways that we continue to be completely hypocritical and malevolent towards a nation that poses no threat to us whatsoever.

And if you think it's "sickening" for them to consider calling someone "güero" (blond) as flattery, they are both humble & faltering and that is racist.I am light skinned (mexican/spanish) and if I tell someone they has a nice tan its to be nice, if another white person were to say that was a "sickening" that would be bad also right?Please excuse my English |
