Actually, it ALL makes its way back. The DEA only makes the occasional bust, so that they look like they are 'doing' something. People get promotions, raises, more employees are hired, the department grows and gets more money to fight the 'war'Then, the DEA finds the next eager customer, wanting to do business with their new connection to 'corrupt government employees.' As the coke hits the street level, local cops and FBI get more work; soon, they call the DEA and a case start to be built against this new supplier of drugs. More promotions, raises, bonuses, and HEY! Look at that! Some more free product they can sell to the next gullible cartel...The ONLY way that coke disappears is up someones nose or through someones crack pipe.So, yeah. Legalize it, regulate it. That's the ONLY option because where-ever there is demand, supply will eventually find it's way. The difference is we could be saving billions NOT FUNDING a department that has no interest in accomplishing its own demise.
