It depends what you shoot with. Here is an example of the Tina Fey Vanity Fair "photo" shoot that used video shot on a Red One to produce the stills for the magazine.http://www.b2pro.com/gallery/shot_on_red/index.php ...This certainly seems like a more effective way to get a sequence of usable shots than a 9 fps stills camera.I'm not suggesting this is an everyman approach to photography as it's obviously cost prohibitive to most people, as is the Phantom camera for high speed video. However, it goes to show that there are better options out there for this kind of subject matter and someone who can't afford to use these options should concentrate on the more traditional approach of good composition to make individual shots that impress rather than a lackluster sequence of shots..

Part of that is cultural. For example, in my neighbourhood, all of the African immigrants eat lentils because that's what they're used to. But people who were born in Canada are used to eating a lot of meat, so the idea of buying lentils and beans in place of meat doesn't even occur to most of them.
