No i'm never against limiting moronic behavior, but you act as if viruses/malware/adware/etc. can be totally avoided while using windows if you simply know how to skillfully navigate the internet. Sure you can avoid some bad stuff by not downloading free internet games, etc., but most of the viruses are the result of the laziness of the more novice Windows user.You are basically required to use some sort of virus/malware/adware software (free or otherwise) on top being conscious of what may or may not damage your computer while surfing the internet. It is a chore and a lot of users don't want to, or aren't experienced enough to do it. My point remains, WHY? Why would a novice user who only users a computer for basic purposes deal with it if they don't have to? Windows is not the most popular OS because it is better, it is the most popular OS because it is common. People who don't have experience buy what they see people using around them. You can debate Mac vs.PC all day from the position of a more advanced user, but for my grandma, OS X is the only way to go.Stop acting like viruses/badware only come from improper use of a computer. You have to have a virus software solution, and if that virus software does not cover spyware/adware/malware you need another piece of software to cover that. They need to be run weekly (at least) for most basic users. IT IS A CHORE for all Windows users, and there is really no reason to put up with it for the most part.From the standpoint of a basic user, these commercials do a great job of pointing out the fact that there is another option.... one without the chores. That said, they do annoy me because I am not a basic user, and I do not use just one OS.?
My cable box has nothing to do with internet. Yes the cable in my house brings my internet but I pay for that separately from my tv package.
