Okay, a dose of reality for everyone:1. First off, Hoffman supporters. Hoffman is from outside the district. This is like voting for Palin in Iowa. He didn't even bother to learn about the issues in the local area! How the hell is he going to serve his constituents? (Answer: He won't. He's in this race for no one else but himself!)2. Second, Hoffman told the local GOP bosses that he wouldn't challenge Scozzafava. He reneged on his word, which means he'll do the same thing IN CONGRESS if it suits his purposes. Remember Bush/Cheney repeating the same "we'll be small-government" lies during their campaigns? If conservatives in NY-23 vote for Hoffman, they will have learned nothing from 2001-2008.3. Now the rest of us: Hoffman's challenge would have split the GOP vote here, but with Scozzafava gone, Owens is on his own. He will need to emphasize the above points to have a decent shot, because Hoffman has a lot of money at his back.

The quality of their agency's ads is starting to slip though. The think different campaign was definitely the high point, and the initial mac vs. pc ads were somewhat clever, but now they're just annoying. Add to this the fact that there really isn't anything bad you can really say about Windows 7 except that it's basically Vista with substantially better memory allocation and parallelism (although Apple can't go there as they've already derided Vista), and it might be time for Apple to change agencies..
