On tonight’s show, Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy learn all about the only magazine for women who want to lead a healthier, more active life from Kristin Harrison, Editor-in-Chief.

If you’re a woman who is active or is thinking about becoming active you have to check this mag out. Each issue of Her Sports + Fitness is filled with detailed training plans, lots of nutrition tips, in depth profiles of active women and tours of fun travel locations. If you’re looking for fad diets, or super skinny models then this is NOT the magazine.

We liked it because it has tons of real valuable info, like actual training guides for running a road race - from fun run 5ks to longer events. We also like how they actually show up at these events and are involved in the community races. We also like how they profile real women who are doing the real work of trying to lead a healthier more active lifestyle. And they have a great fitness gear guide that is a must have for everyone!

Kristin explained that not only does Her Sports have their own triathlon team, they also have running clubs throughout the country. You can find Her Sports at events all over. For more information about joining the running club, or get training tips or to nominate someone for an active woman profile or subscribe to the magazine please go to their website www.hersports.com

Don’t forget about The Roswell-tree Road Race to be held this July 4th at Roswell Park that benefits The Atlanta Community Food Bank. This great event is a fun run in the truest sense. You see everyone who signs up is placed in a division that includes only them - which ensures that when they complete the race they will have won their division. Imagine that, a race that you are guaranteed to win. There are a few other fun and silly rules to abide by or not. For more information contact Sally Jamara at her website www.roswelltree.org

Next up we had on Director Linda Burns and Andrew “Drew” Johnston, star of the new documentary chronicling Drew’s rise from a cancer diagnosis to him competing in an Ironman Triathlon in Hawaii called Living is Winning.

This is a great story - Drew is an elite athlete. He stared out as a competitive pro cyclist, but after a series of accidents and concussions, he was forced to put down his bike.

Drew quickly changed gears and found success and a new career as a triathlete. But 2004 brought devastating news for his family, his friends and his future. Drew was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML) and his body literally broke down.

But two years later, after taking an oral chemo called Gleevac, and continuing his commitment to a healthy organic lifestyle, rigorous targeted exercise and an extremely positive mental attitude, Drew is in molecular remission.

Today, Drew competes at triathlons and Ironman events throughout the country with remarkable results. Drew’s life story serves as an inspiration to others, to strive to be your best in every aspect of life and to never give up your dreams, no matter how distant they may seem.

Their goal with the Living is Winning movie is to reach audiences all over the world, engaging them with the passion that exists in the sport of triathlons to encourage the passion that is necessary to continue the search for a cure for cancer. Living is Winning will entertain everyone from triathletes to couch potatoes with action packed race footage, moving interviews, lots of humor and a great original score. They hope to inspire every generation to eat healthy, exercise and become socially responsible through organizations like Team in Training and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Check out the trailer and buy the dvd at www.livingiswinning.com
