On tonight’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy spoke with Dr David Perlmutter, The Renegade Neurologist. He is a renegade because of his emphasis on healthy nutrition and supplementation as it relates to brain function. And this guy is the real deal - he was awarded the 2002 Linus Paulding Award for his pioneering work in innovative approaches to neurological disorders. He is also the author of several books like, BrainRecovery.com, The Better Brain Book and Raise a Smarter Child by Kindergarten. Dr David, as Dr Fitness referred to him says some great ways to improve your brain health are: increase the amount of DHA you get either through supplements or by eating more fish; eat more healthy fats; eat more green leafy vegetables and eat more colorful fruit. He also said a great way to get more DHA is in breast milk, who knew? He is working with Kelloggs in creating the Live Bright Brain Health Bar that is a delicious way to improve your brain health.
