We forgot to mention it on the show, but please don’t forget about The Roswell-tree Road Race to be held this July 4th at Roswell Park that benefits The Atlanta Community Food Bank. This great event is a fun run in the truest sense. You see everyone who signs up is placed in a division that includes only them - which ensures that when they complete the race they will have won their division. Imagine that, a race that you are guaranteed to win. There are a few other fun and silly rules to abide by or not. For more information contact Sally Jamara at her website www.roswelltree.org
On tonight’s show Dr Fitness and the Fat Guy learn all about the Three Antidotes for Overeating from new mom, Nicci Micco, Senior Editor of Eating Well magazine.
Nicci said that if you drink some red wine, use a little vinegar and eat a lot more fruits, especially berries you will overeat less and improve your health more. She and Dr Fitness talked all about free radicals, polyphenols and other science stuff. To read the rest of this article and check out all the other great stuff you can find in Eating Well magazine (like lots of healthy recipes and great free newsletters) be sure to go to their website www.eatingwell.com
We opened the show with Tamra Nashman, author of Shoes for the Spirit: Encouragements. Dr Fitness discovered this amazing woman in New York and they bonded over his fear of flying in a plane and her experience of surviving a crash in a plane. Her inspirational book is filled with real life stories of hope and people who have successfully faced seemingly impossible odds and who learned how to triumph over what seemed like insurmountable odds.
Tamra has faced tough times throughout her life and handled them with grace and class. She herself has survived a terrifying plane crash, dealt with severe family health challenges and more. So she was the right person to compile these stories and put their lessons into words. For more information on her new book and her inspirational music cd please go to her website www.shoesforthespirit.com
